The Slacker is Back!

Hey, to all my loyal fans out there, I apologize for the lack of blogging these last few weeks. I appreciate the requests and am glad to be back. My life has revolved around a little 2 pound ball of fluff and sick kids.

The puppy is doing great but kind of like a newborn. I forgot the lack of sleep I was headed for and the constant companionship it takes to potty train. She is doing great in both departments though so I can't really complain. A little work now will hopefully pay off in the future. She is growing fast and is constant entertainment.

As for my sick children, bless their hearts......as usual, my little Kiera ends up the sickest one of all. She has been sick since fall break when we traveled to Utah. After 3 strep tests in 4 weeks, the doctor decided to run a blood test to see if there was something else going on. Sure enough, she was diagnosed with mono. This means lots of rest at home, school as tolerated and limited physical activity. We are trying a couple of classes a day at school with lots of homework and study here at home. Dance is on hold for now, along with P.E., riding her bike and jumping on the tramp. And definately no contact sports, this includes no wrestling with her siblings! Kaysen and Kylene have also been sick on and off (more on than off) so debating whether to have them tested for mono as well.

Through it all though, Kylene managed to finally finish up her driving requirements and as of last Thursday, officially became a licensed Montana driver. Yea for Kylene!! Scary for mom and dad! She took the car for the first time by herself Sat. night. It was exciting and a reality check of just how old I really am. Didn't I just get my license?

So even though I have felt very out of the loop being home with sick kids and a new puppy,I am so grateful for blogging and all those that blog. It is such a great way to stay in touch with friends and family and feel a part of their lives. Thanks to all of you out there that blog. It brightens my day! Keep posting!!!!!

Wow, I had no idea all of this was happening at your house! I feel so badly that poor little Kiera has mono. What a mess for her and for you. Keep your head up - this too will pass...

Love you lots, and miss you always.

So glad to hear that you're still alive (even if some of you are sick). As Heather mentioned, Pres. Allred put on a management retreat for my firm, and he did a fabulous job (of course). He said that your family has been "such a blessing to our ward." Did you pay him to say that? JK You're lucky to have him as your stake president -- I bet his talks are pretty interesting.
